Dr. Brooke VanderZyl, DPT, ATC
Physical Therapist
I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2010 with a degree in Athletic Training. While working to attain my ATC degree I worked with collegiate sports teams at UCF including the football, basketball and competitive cheerleading teams. This degree help me build a foundation of hard work and caring for all individuals. I was required to work many hours to accommodate the needs of my athlete’s and patient’s which helped shaped my desire to administer the highest quality of care to them.
After graduating, I pursued my Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University in Plantation, FL. As part of my degree, I was able to intern in a variety of settings, most of which were in privately owned outpatient clinics. My experience through these facilities have helped me establish Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, LLC.
I am located within Addison Reserve Country Club as our main hub. At this facility I see older active adults who wish to have treatment within the confines and familiarity of their community. I work to keep residents healthy and strong to remain on the tennis/pickleball courts, golf course as well as their beloved group fitness classes. I strive to facilitate a high quality treatment for a population with an active life-style.
I have furthered my Doctoral education by becoming a Certified Titleist Pro Instructor for golf education and rehabilitation. I am a Certified Graston Technique specialist who provides advanced manual interventions to qualified patients along with therapeutic Cupping. I am also certified in the newest techniques of Dry Needling which helps release muscle tension, improve blood circulation, and promote the body’s natural healing mechanisms to expedite my patient’s return to play. I am also continuing my pursuit of becoming a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist via the Maitland Manual Certification program.
